திட்டமிட்டு, மனம் ஒருமித்து, ஒரு காரியம் இயற்றும் போது அதற்கேற்ப பலன் கிட்டுகிறது. மனத்தை ஒருமுகப்படுத்தி எந்தக் காரியத்தை செய்தாலும் அது தவமாகிறது. தவத்திற்கு உதாரணம் பூசலார் நாயனார் கதை, திருநின்றவூரில் வாழ்ந்தார் பூசலார் நாயனார்.

சிவனுக்கு கோயில் கட்ட எண்ணினார். அந்த கோயிலை தன் மனதிலேயே கட்ட ஆரம்பித்தார். தினமும் காலையில் எழுந்து தன் அன்றட அலுவல்களை முடித்து விட்டு தனியாக ஒரு இடத்தில் அமர்ந்து தன் மனத்தில் கோயில் கட்டினார். கோயில் கட்ட இடத்தை தேர்ந்தெடுப்பது, நாள் பார்த்து பூமி பூசை செய்து கோயிலின் நீள, அகல, உயரங்களை நிர்ணயிப்பது; மதில் சுவர் அமைப்பது; கோவிலில் நிறுவப்பட வேண்டிய சிலைகளின் அளவுகள், அவற்றை செய்ய வேண்டியது, கோவில் கும்பாபிஷேக ஏற்பாடுகள் செய்வது, அதற்கு நாள் குறிப்பது போன்ற எல்லா வேலைகளையும் மனதிலே திட்டமிட்டு, அதன் படி கட்டத் துவங்கினார். இதைத் தவிற வேறு சிந்தனையேதுமின்றி, அல்லும், பகலும் இடையறாது இதையே மனதில் சிந்தித்த படி இருந்ததால் அந்த கோயில் எழுந்தது. அவருடைய செயல் தவமாயிற்று. அவருடைய தவத்தின் பலன் தான் கோயில் தவத்திற்கு பலன் உண்டு. 

இவரது திருப்பணி இவ்வாறு நிகழ்ந்து கொண்டிருக்கும் நிலையில், காடவர்கோனாகிய வேந்தர்பெருமான் காஞ்சி நகரத்திலே இறைவனுக்குத் திருக்கற்றளி அமைத்துத் தன் பெரிய பொருள் முழுவதையும் அத்திருக்கோயிற் பூசனைக்கென்று வகுத்துத் தான் அமைத்த கற்றளியிலே சிவபெருமானை எழுந்தருளுவிப்பதற்குப் பூசலார் அகத்தில் வகுத்த அந்த நாளையே குறித்தார். பூசலாரது அன்பின் திறத்தை உலகத்தார்க்கு அறிவிக்கத் திருவுளங் கொண்ட சிவபெருமான், அந்நாளின் முதல் நள்ளிரவில் காடவர் கோமான் முன் கனவில் எழுந்தருளி நின்றவூர்ப்பூசல் அன்பன் நெடிதுநாள் நினைந்து செய்த நன்மை மிக்க ஆலயத்துள் நாளை நாம் புகுவோம்; நீ இங்கு செய்யத்துணிந்த தாபனத்தினை நாளைய தினத்தில் வைத்துக் கொள்ளாது பின்னர் மற்றொரு நாளில் செய்வாயாக’ என்று பணித்தருளி மறைந்தருளினார்.

பல்லவர்கோன், துயிலுணர்ந்தெழுந்து இறைவர் உளமுவக்கும் வண்ணம் பெரியதிருக்கோயிலை அமைத்த பெருந்தகையாரைச் சென்று காணவிரும்பித் திருநின்றவூரை அடைந்தான். அங்கு அருகணைந்தவர்களை நோக்கி, ‘பூசலார் அமைத்த கோயில் எங்கே உள்ளது?’ என்று கேட்டார். அதுகேட்ட நின்றவூர் மக்கள், ‘பூசலார் இவ்வூரிற் கோயில் எதுவும் கட்டவில்லை’ என்றனர். மன்னன் அவ்வூர் மறையவர்களை அழைத்து ‘பூசலார் யார்’ எனக்கேட்டறிந்து, ஆசில் வேதியராகிய அவர் இருக்குமிடத்திற்குத் தானே சென்று அவரை வணங்கி, ‘தேவரீர் அமைத்த திருக்கோயில் யாது? அக்கோயிலில் சிவபெருமானை எழுந்தருளச் செய்யும் நாள் இந்த நாள் என்று இறைவர் தெரிவித்தருளத் தெரிந்து உம்மைக்கண்டு பணிதற்கு வந்தேன்’ என்றார். பூசலார், அரசன் உரைகேட்டு மருண்டு, ‘இறைவர் என்னையும் பொருளாக அருள்செய்தாராயின் அக்கோயிலின் பெருமை எத்தகையது? என்று தமக்குள்ளேயே சிந்தித்துத் தாம் மனத்தால் முயன்று செய்த திருக்கோயிலின் அமைப்பினை மன்னனுக்கு விளங்க எடுத்துரைத்தார்.

திருவள்ளூர் மாவட்டம், திருநின்றவூரில் உள்ள கோயிலின் இறைவன் ஸ்ரீஇருதயாலீஸ்வரர். இங்கு வந்து இருதயாலீஸ்வரரை வேண்டிக் கொண்டால், இதயம் சம்பந்தப்பட்ட பிரச்சினைகள் குணமாகும். இதய நோய் பூரணமாக குணம் பெறும். மனோதிடம் பெருகும். மங்கள நினைவுகள் இதயத்தில் குடியிருந்து வழிநடத்தும் என்பது ஐதீகம்.

அனைத்து தெய்வங்களையும் விட மாபெரும் பெருமையை உடைய எமது இறைவன் வினைகள் கர்மாக்கள் மூலங்கள் கொண்ட குறைகள் நிறைந்த உயிர்களின் உடல்களிலும் கலந்து இருக்கின்றான். அதாவது எம் தலைவனான இறைவன் ஊன் உடலில் உள்ள குற்றங்களிலும் கலந்து அவற்றுள் விளங்குகின்றான். வானுலகத்திலுள்ள தேவர்களாலும் அறிய முடியாத அளவு இருக்கும் மகாதேவனாகிய அந்த இறைவனை உயிர்கள் தனக்குள் தவம் செய்து நமக்குள்ளேயே அறியலாம்.
